Post Smooth Green Snake (Liochlorophis vernalis)
I set out along one of several power line corridors in my area hoping to see a milksnake or two on the move. Not the species that I was looking for, but definitely a nice surprise. These guys are getting harder to find. This is the first one I've seen in about 5 years.

I have several green snakes in my garden. I find one in a bush every morning. I don't know anything about them except they are a pretty color. The bush it is in is a raspberry bush. I also have garter snakes and red bellied brown snakes we atch every morning from our deck. My wife is scared to death of snakes but is now looking forward to seeing them ( how many) every morning.

Entirely harmless. I've never had one show any attempt to bite, but even if they did, it wouldn't pose a problem. Glad people are seeing these. I haven't found any yet this year.

I was just telling my wife about these today actually, I used to find them all the time with my dad when I was a kid. The last one I saw was 2 years ago and of all places in was in my friends kitchen. He lived with his mom off Jordan Ave in Brunswick and his mom is in a wheel chair, we heard her scream in the kitchen and apparently one of these guys managed to get into their apartment. I was pretty excited to catch it, we played with it a while, he was super calm and let me handle him for 30-40 min while we hung out then I released him into the wooded area behind his house. Nice pics, I wish I had my camera with me

I found lots of them 20+ years ago in that area. Haven't found any lately there, but also haven't been there nearly as much.

Ya I mean when I saw lots of em it was like 15-20 years ago as well. That was the first one I had seen since I was like 12
